1.     FAMILY REQUEST.

Last year Beth and I saw that her mother, Dorothy Matthews, was becoming increasingly feeble.  We also saw that our oldest grandchildren were approaching high school and would soon be going their own ways as they do when approaching university age. 

So we planned a time where all 3 of our girls and all 9 grandchildren could come to America, to Oshkosh Nebraska our hometown, and discover their roots.  Four of the grandchildren have never been to America.  After 27 year on the mission field we wanted them to see both sides of our family, before life changes took place to the degree that we probably would never all come together again.  We dug deep and bought the tickets for the last week of June and beginning of July.

 Now a serious medical condition has put Beth’s mother in the hospital.  Doctors have warned the family that Dorothy may not make it to her birthday on June 1.

We have bought a last minute ticket and Beth has travel to see her mother while she is still alive. She wants to hold her, kiss her, hug her, and express her love to her now, in case she does not make it to the family reunion. 

I am asking people to pray with us that the Lord would touch Dorothy and give her new strength and life to see everyone in July and beyond -- this would be take a miracle.  Dorothy wants to go be with the Lord now.

Dorothy will have a family reunion in July – it is only a matter of which family. Her earthly family or her heavenly one.  We are praying for the will of God in this matter and we ask and thank you for praying with us about this matter.

 

2. RESCUE THE PERISHING.

Our desire is to add as many as possible to the heavenly family.  We have a significant opportunity to do this in the second week of June.  Mission Of Compassion will be holding a “village wide” crusade in Shipka, Ukraine.   

In this village of approximately 3,000 people, there is a new church that has been started and the Lord has graciously granted some significant miracles to take place in the church. 

Shipka is small enough that many of the people recognize each on the street. They are taking note of people they know who have been healed of significant situations (cancer, crippling birth defects, incurable diseases, etc) and asking what has happened to them. 

We believe that now is the time that the Lord wants to visit this village in an important way.  Therefore, we are making every effort to touch this village:

  • Renting a large tent, and having a “village wide healing, evangelistic crusade”. 
  • Leaflets with the pictures of people and their testimonies who were previously healed in the village, are being put through every door of the village.  
  • Large posters all over the village. 

The Lord wants to rescue the perishing. We believe that the Lord is going to make us   “the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. (2 Cor. 2:15)

 Will you please pray and intercede with us for a significant move of God in these meetings June 10-12?
